Article by: Maryam Zand, Vice President of Cloud Partners at Red Hat

At theToday at AnsibleFest, Red Hat announced the availability of Ansible Automation Platform in AWS Marketplace and Ansible Automation Platform in Azure Marketplace. This is the latest milestone in Red Hat’s long-standing collaborations with AWS and Microsoft as we work together to help customers more efficiently migrate, develop and modernize applications in the cloud.

As customers continue to evolve their hybrid cloud strategy, ease of access is critical in order to flexibly deploy solutions at the necessary scale and spanning the full spectrum of their cloud footprint. By working with leading cloud providers such as AWS, Microsoft and Google to develop native offerings and make Red Hat solutions available in cloud marketplaces, Red Hat is committed to accelerating hybrid cloud innovation and enhancing customer experience by making it easier for organizations to purchase and deploy the solutions they need faster.

Powering innovation and value on cloud marketplaces

Organizations are increasingly turning to cloud marketplaces as a means of more simply procuring and deploying cloud services and software solutions to accelerate digital innovation. In fact, IDC predicts that by 2024, 55% of organizations will use cloud marketplaces to source software.[1]

For Red Hat, we see this shift in consumption as an opportunity to better serve organizations with greater choice, flexibility and ease in deploying open source solutions across the hybrid cloud in support of nearly any enterprise cloud operating model. Cloud marketplaces open up hundreds of software solutions and cloud services at the click of a button, while enabling organizations to utilize committed spend with cloud providers and benefit from streamlined billing models.

In recent years Red Hat has been deepening collaboration with the leading cloud providers, AWS, Google and Microsoft, to make Red Hat software and cloud services available in cloud marketplaces and within native cloud provider consoles. Fully managed services such as Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS and Microsoft Azure Red Hat OpenShift are purchased through the provider’s console and jointly supported by Red Hat and the cloud partner. This offers an enhanced customer buying experience to accelerate procurement, development and deployment of applications in the public cloud, and unlocking the benefits of open source in bringing together disparate systems across a hybrid cloud footprint.

Other Red Hat products are also available in the cloud marketplaces, including industry leading solutions such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat OpenShift. Let’s take a look at how Red Hat is showing up in cloud marketplaces today:

AWS Marketplace

In addition to the upcoming listing for Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, the following Red Hat solutions are currently available in AWS Marketplace:

– Red Hat OpenShift
– Red Hat Enterprise Linux
– Red Hat Enterprise Linux for SAP Solutions
– Red Hat Enterprise Linux with Microsoft SQL Server

As evidenced by today’s announcement, Red Hat is continuing to expand the availability of solutions in AWS Marketplace. Customers and partners can expect to see more from Red Hat and AWS to deliver future-ready, friction-free solutions.

Google Cloud Marketplace

Red Hat OpenShift is now available in Google Cloud Marketplace! Since 2013, Red Hat and Google have worked together to enable greater flexibility and choice in hybrid cloud, beginning with Red Hat Enterprise Linux support for Google Compute Engine. Now, we are evolving our offerings with Google to bring Red Hat hybrid cloud solutions to Google Cloud Marketplace:

– Red Hat OpenShift
– Red Hat Enterprise Linux
– Red Hat Enterprise Linux for SAP Solutions

With flexible configurations based on an open source, security-focused foundation, global network infrastructure and advanced data analytics, Red Hat and Google Cloud can provide customers with the tools and technologies they need to build and operate hybrid and multicloud environments more effectively and efficiently.

Microsoft Azure Marketplace

Red Hat and Microsoft have steadily built upon years of collaboration to introduce two new fully managed services within the last three years, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Azure Red Hat OpenShift. Both of these jointly developed and supported native offerings pair industry leading open source technology with the convenience and support of a managed service.

Red Hat and Microsoft continue to extend our work together to enhance customer experience and simplify deployment. Customers and partners can take advantage of several Red Hat solutions available in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace today:

– Red Hat OpenShift
– Red Hat Enterprise Linux
– Red Hat Enterprise Linux for SAP Solutions
– Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform

Red Hat’s close collaboration with major cloud providers also brings together our respective partner ecosystems to further extend customer support. Service providers, systems integrators and independent software vendors are able to integrate Red Hat cloud offerings into their own digital transformation initiatives to benefit customers and optimize existing resources through cloud providers.

Delivering enhanced customer experiences

Red Hat has always been committed to making it as easy as possible for customers to engage with Red Hat solutions. Not only is Red Hat built on open source, but we were one of the first technology companies to introduce a subscription-based business model to help customers remain agile and dynamic in building their IT environments.

Like everything in IT, the ways in which organizations are buying and deploying software is constantly evolving. That’s why Red Hat is enhancing our business practices to introduce flexible methods of purchasing and deploying Red Hat solutions on the public cloud – through investments in native offerings with cloud providers, channel enablement programs and cloud marketplaces.

We look forward to our continued collaboration with leading cloud providers to further excel innovation across hybrid multicloud and create value for customers in accessing and deploying open source to support their business needs into the future.
